Story
THE MCLAREN VALE WINE REGION
| The McLaren Vale is the gateway to the Fleurieu Peninsular in South Australia, tucked between the Mount Lofty Ranges and the placid waters of the Gulf of St Vincent, about 40 km from South of Adelaide. The climate is of a Mediterranean character with warm dry summers and moderate winters and winter-dominant rainfall.There are over 60 cellar doors within the region each stamped the winemaker’s own personality and many are run as small family operations, giving the McLaren Vale a diversity of experience and character. Grapes were first planted in the region in 1838 and there are still some vines that are producing and are over 100 years old.With the dominance of smaller winery operations, it gives the visitors to the cellars doors, the opportunity of meeting the growers behind their wines.The region is famous for producing some of the best Shiraz in Australia and is arguably one of the premier Shiraz-growing regions in the world.THE ZIMMERMANN WINE STORY, click here |

ZIMMERMANN SHIRAZ
Single vineyard handpicked Shiraz
Vintage 2006
Only the best fruit from this Willunga Hills boutique vineyard is handpicked and open fermented for the production of this distinctive , vivid purple red single vineyard Shiraz, which is mellow, well balanced and holds a long finish, yet not heavy on the palate.
Handcrafted winemaking techniques are essential when making a wine of this exceptional quality.
This well structured wine is approachable now, however it has the concentration, tannin and acid to guarantee longer term cellaring.

It is recommended with venison, game, seafood, spicy or light Asian dishes, smoked food and cheeses.

Vintage 2007
Full red purple, superb mix of Dark Berry, Black Currant Fruit, interwoven with fine, spicy, French oak, matured for 18 months in the barrel.
This wine has been released in September 2010.
